Cheltenham front garden
This design has transformed an open, South-facing front garden on free-draining sandy soil, from a tired lawn to a colourful and richly textured tapestry of sun-loving planting, alive with bees and butterflies.
The shallow slope has been terraced with robust new oak sleepers, and a generous gravel and stepping stone path leads invitingly down steps to the front door. Evening sun turns the golden seedheads of giant oat grass into a shimmering veil.
Even in the Winter, there is plenty of interest from the carefully chosen planting with structure and seedheads, and in early Spring drifts of gorgeous Crocus and Tulip welcome the returning warmth.
