Mature Planting
Sometimes it can be difficult to envisage what your newly planted garden will look like after a few years. These images show my 'Cotswolds Contemporary' garden 5 - 6 years after planting. It has been beautifully looked after, and it's lovely to see the trees, shrubs and hedges looking really established and performing the design role I intended. The garden is a lush green haven, full of colour, texture and scent. It is also wonderful for wildlife as well as for its human occupants!
It is of course possible to achieve instant maturity by planting larger plants at the start, however planting smaller usually means it is easier to keep the new plants growing on strongly, and you also have the satisfaction of seeing the plants respond to your care and attention. It is also a very good way of saving money, where budgets are not unlimited!
