Oxford town house garden
Working with talented interior designers Rogue Designs, we responded to architect Ifor Rhys’s basement extension by proposing a bold quarter-amphitheatre space to make a stunning feature out of the steps necessary to connect to the existing garden level.
The sweep of curved cream coloured steps are sculptural and inviting, and reflect light into the basement rooms. Raised planting beds with rendered walls tie in with the clean contemporary look, while a beautifully crafted hardwood deck creates a link with the parquet floored interior.
The simple curves are repeated in the rest of the garden to form generous planting beds and arcs of lawn around old established trees, making a relaxing haven which perfectly complements the basement courtyard.
